Alishan and amazing trail systems @-@

So, the first month coming to Alishan is behind us. For one month, we hiked most of Alishan recreation area. I am still totally impressed by wooden trails here and I surely believe that you will, too. I am going to introduce you 3 main trails in Alishan that I discovered through nearly one month hiking here. But please be noted that there are still some other paths that lead you to everywhere you want to go in Alishan.

The first thing you may want to contemplate is the spectacular sunrise. Leading you to the sunrise viewing platform, the trail with the total length about 2000 meters starts from the Alishan Railway Station to the Jushan platform. Because it is very early to see the sunrise so I usually take the train which starts in early morning at 4.00 AM and comes back to the main station at 6.00 AM for the last departure. Particularly if you like exercise, just walk down. It is not exhausting and with gradually rising sun, you will enjoy a pleasant exercise which may justify something exotic for breakfast.

The most common trail may be the Alishan trail. I think this is the main trail and it has a large amount of visitors every day. Hiking in this trail, we will pass the Jhaoping Station and Sister Pond. I have been told a story about the Sister Pond.

There are two sisters falling in love with the same man. The sisters cherished their sisterhood because they could not give up their loves, they choose to end their lives by leaping into two separate ponds. And the local people built the Elder Sister Pond and the Younger Sister Pond to preserve a memory of them.

The third one which I discovered will lead you to the famous Sacred Tree. This trail is not too long and it just takes you about 20 minutes if you start from the end of Alishan Trail. On the way you will see monments, cypress over 2000 years old and a dozen of cypress trees over 1000 years old.

Until now, I still have a question about how they could build so beautiful long trails in this grandeur Alishan, but dismissing all questions, I continue my journey in Alishan and try to discover new things for sharing with all you guys.

開啓阿里山行走之謎~~

很多遊客來到阿里山的遊客服務中心都會問的問題：

1）我剛到這裡，請問我可以怎麽走？

2）你覺得我現在應該怎樣走比較合適？

3）現在我想去走園區，我可以從哪裏開始？

不一樣的問法，可是答案幾乎相同，只是會隨著個人的情況而定。

現在讓我為大家開啓在阿里山行走的路綫之謎吧！

來到園區的第一點，先拿個園區的地圖吧!它讓您更輕鬆的到達目的地。

這一趟旅程一般需要大約2至3小時哦。準備好就出發了！

您如果來到阿里山想先試試乘搭森林小火車，那你可以選擇搭火車到沼平車站，然後在那裏開始步行，可是要注意的是火車只有在早上10點開始才開啓噢，每半小時以班車！

如果您想用步行的方式，那您也可以從遊客服務中心步行到沼平。

來到沼平，第一個景點就是集材柱了！

過後就會來到柳杉林~~

柳杉在步道兩旁直直的聳立。

接著來到了姐妹潭，首先看見的會是妹潭，多走幾步就會看見漂亮的姐潭。

有很多關於姐妹潭的傳説，有傳説說有一對姐妹同時愛上了一個少年，

姐姐爲了讓愛而投進了較大的潭水，而妹妹也爲了讓愛給姐姐就跳進了較小的潭水裏。
之後這兩個潭水被稱爲姐妹潭。
雖然只是個傳説，可是這個傳説為姐妹潭添上了一絲的淒美和神秘感。

走著走著就來到了木蘭園，木蘭的花季是在三月底到四月中旬，

所以現在我們看不到木蘭花盛開的美景。

現在的木蘭花只能看見含花待放的花包。

之後就會來到古色古香的受鎮宮受鎮宮供奉的是玄天上帝，每年農曆的三月三日適逢玄天上帝的生日前後，后有枯球籮紋蛾，民間的神蛾飛來停棲在神像上，形成獨特的奇景。

枯球籮紋蛾，民間稱之爲神蛾。

受鎮宮附近可以看見阿里山新八景之一的香林栱橋，仿佛走進了日本京都。

走到這裡可能會有點累了,可是接下來的是下坡路,所以都不會太累。

走過香林栱橋, 就走下坡到達另外一個景點象鼻木。

這老樹頭像大象的鼻子和大象的頭而因此被命名。

在同一地點也可以看到三代木，

三代木代表著一家三代，第一代的老樹被砍下后種子從其他地方飛來到老樹頭上生長，當第二代得樹倒下后，第三代得樹又長出來。

再走下去就會到達阿里山博物館。

阿里山博物館裏有很多關於阿里山生態和動植物的資料。

接下來就會看見香林神木，河合博士旌功碑，樹靈塔，千歲檜和慈云寺。

慈云寺外部景觀。寺内供奉暹羅（即今泰國）贈送的釋迦釋迦牟尼古佛像一尊，

現在已有千年之久，非常珍貴！

爲了紀念和表揚日本林學博士琴山河合來到這裡進行森林調查的貢獻而建立的旌功碑。

此巨木是在神木放到后，票選出來的神木，名為香林神木。

樹靈塔是在日治時代爲了安撫台灣伐木工人而建造的，據説日治時代當時伐木期間發生了很多靈異事件，導致人心惶惶，所以日本人建了此塔。圓形的台階代表樹木的年輪，而塔身則代表樹幹。

千歲檜在日治時期被稱之爲万歲檜，皆因樹幹看似雙臂高舉万歲，民國時期因該樹齡只有千歲而改名為千歲檜。

之後順著巨木群棧道走下去，兩旁有很多千年的紅儈。

巨木群棧道的盡頭就是神木了！

阿里山神木因樹身老化，所以林物局把它人工放倒在那裏。

這裡也有火車行駛，每半小時一班車。

如果累了，可以乘搭森林火車回到阿里山車站。

如果覺得體力還可以的話，也可以選擇步行回去。

阿里山森林遊樂園區之旅結束啦。

除了重點園區之外，阿里山還有其他景點如水山巨木，塔山，貴賓館，對高岳觀景台，慈云觀景台，祝山和小笠原山。我們都會一一向您介紹！

The next pages of my diary in beloved Alishan !

Hiiiii, how about your recent days?

For me, that is a succession of new discovering days. It is undeniable that Alishan is a paradise for explorers and mountaineers. This week we spent most of the mornings in hiking and climbing but still have not experienced all Alishan’s trails.
We started our trip when the outside-weather was below 18 degrees Celsius and grass still wetted in dew. It was terrible feeling. @-@ But we all knew that just only in early mornings could we capture the beauty of diamond dewdrops still remaining on leaves.

One of the attractions in Alishan is the comfortable weather, hardly can you find anywhere else in Taiwan that has the daily temperature just about 25 Degrees Celsius in summer. The sunlight in Alishan is not too burning, just enough warming the atmosphere which was bathed in frost.

And… these are the first rays of the sun when the morning was just dawning. The sky was very blue and the sun just like a water-drop in the deeply blue firmament.

We skirted the zigzag railway and wooden trails which are neatly arranged and covered by the orange “monbretia” along the roadsides.

Lyvia was trying to eat this bunch of flowers to suck out the beauty and I was trying to protect the flowers somehow. Can you guess the result? @$%#$^&*

Finally, we reached a large station – which was called in a Chinese name but I could not translate so I called it “Sky station”, because from here, we could see the whole view of grandeur Alishan mountains and the sky below us. Here, wind blew lightly as the breath and we nearly could touch the cloud.
